Some oil filter pliers require two-handed operation, which can make them difficult to use in tight spaces.
That's one reason Brandon Steckler, technician at Advanced Automotive Diagnostics and Repair in Whiteland, Indiana, likes the easy one-handed operation of AllTrade Tools' Powerbuilt Oil Filter Pliers. Steckler found that working with these filter pliers offers time savings and generates less mess than with traditional filter pliers.
He also noted that there is no setup required - the tool comes ready to use right out of the package - and that there is "no need for an instruction manual, as they are as simple to operate as any spring-loaded return pliers."
