An industrial building with rich history in a transitioning part of Northeast Portland is for sale.
Also, it's supposedly haunted.
The American Brush Building, at 116 N.E. Sixth Ave., was once a candy factory and a grocery distribution center. Now it's the working home of American Brush Co., a company that manufactures large, industrial brushes for agriculture and industry. The company is planning to move; it is selling the building for $1.95 million.
The 20,000-square-foot, four-floor building was built in 1907 but is no longer efficient for the purposes of the company, which started operating in 1910 making paintbrushes and push brooms, company president Laddie Wirth said. The company moved into the building...
