After nearly three years of struggling, Anker Coal Group Inc. is bankrupt.
Anker and 18 of its subsidiaries filed for Chapter 11 protection from creditors Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of West Virginia in Morgantown.
In its filing, Anker listed $93.91 million in assets and $188.97 million in debts.
