OUT OF THE BOX
Should Apple-loving presenters push Microsoft PowerPoint aside for a presentation program supposedly tested by none other than Steve Jobs? Since Apple's release of Keynote in January, that question has been on the minds of many a Macintosh presenter.
Although Microsoft's PowerPoint X for Mac is a nice tool, a Little competition never hurts. And Keynote costs just $99, about $200 cheaper than PowerPoint X - which for many is a good enough reason to try it. But is Keynote a worthy alternative to PowerPoint? Layouts and templates
Like many slideshow-- creation programs, Keynote starts with a screen offering 12 predesigned themes. You can also create and add your own custom theme to this menu. Each theme includes a variety of slide masters (bLank, text and bullet, photo and text, etc.) for building slides.
There are no grids to work with in Keynote, but it does provide guides from the ruler ALso, the Inspection palette provides object measurement information so you can type in the size of a text box or object and its Location for exact placement on the slide.
