It's no wonder there's big buzz about Applied Messaging.
The new company is staffed by a Who's Who of players who have had more than $7 million in venture capital for a year now but are staying mum about what it is they're actually doing over in Lexington. They're calling it "private be&' and until now only hinting that it has something to do with instant messaging (IM).
You might remember Applied Messaging's president and CEO, Chuck Digate, as former chairman and CEO of Insightful Corp. (data mining and business intelligence apps), founder and CEO of Beyond Inc. (enterprise messaging), former Lotus vice president, Texas Instruments long-timer (consumer electronics), or from his graduate student days at MIT. He also founded FreeScholarships.com, a student resource company that planned to offer $10,000 in scholarships every day but shut down in the fall of 2000 due to a lack of funding.
