FOR MOST, THE WORDS "ARCTIC Slope" conjure up vistas of snow, ice and vast oil reserves. But for shareholders in a giant Native corporation, the words mean everything from coal exploration to construction services, from television stations to tour buses.
Arctic Slope Regional Corp., serving the Native population of northernmost Alaska, has a diversified range of interests. Its most recent corporate chart shows 13 wholly owned subsidiaries, another 13 with 50-99 percent ASRC ownership, and 10 other firms with less than 49 percent ASRC ownership.
