Judges are continuing to give high marks to DGWB, even as the Irvine agency tries to defend its prized account with San Diego-based Qualcomm.
At last month's OC AdClub awards, DGWB won best of show for its Qualcomm advertisement. But within the month, Qualcomm announced it was "reviewing" the account.
Unfortunately for DGWB, the Qualcomm campaign didn't even win a certificate at the District 15 regional advertising competition on April 4. But the three-judge panel did consider DGWB's Wiener Dog campaign for Wienerschnitzel for best of show before deciding to give it a special-recognition award. The best of show went to San Diego-based Bull Dog Drummond for its own letterhead.
And DGWB was OC's overall top dog in the contest, winning five Addys altogether, all for its Wienerschnitzel account. The ads were put together by creative director Jon Gothold, art directors Steve Rickey and Joe Cladis and copywriters Chris Cruttenden and Mark Bernath.
