A new Milwaukee Web site development firm is taking the nonprofit route to making a name for itself.
Ascedia Inc. is building a book of traditional business clients, which currently includes Wisconsin State Fair, Irish Fest, the Green Bay Area Visitors & Convention Bureau, and Milwaukee Area Technical College. Meanwhile, the three founders of Ascedia say they want to be a leader in providing Web development to social service groups.
I think there's a need for it and it's important for us to give something back (to the community)," said Dan Early, president of Ascedia.
Ascedia has either donated or done work at reduced cost for several nonprofits in Wisconsin, including the Wheelchair Recycling Program in Madison and the Animal Emergency Center in Glendale.
Ascedia was founded by three partners to serve as a small specialty Web development service. The three funded the startup with $15,000 of their own money.
