The latest version of Astound Presentation contains pretty much everything a PowerPoint junky could ever want. It's easier than ever to create your presentations in PowerPoint and then bring them into Presentation to add the extras. I don't recommend this product for the weak at heart, though. It has almost too many features for the basic presentation creator. But if you are ready for the next level, here's a look at some of the best new features in Presentation 7.0.
Multiple masters
Within Presentation are 11 masters; the program also merges PowerPoint's slide master with the slide layout. You can manipulate the placement of anything on the masters or you can make your own. It's as simple as inserting a new slide and adding text, image, sound, chart or movie placeholders. As you can in the latest PowerPoint versions, in Presentation you can also animate the elements on your master. A separate master handles your printouts. Presentation defaults to 18 print masters, but, just as you can with the template master, you can add and manipulate the layout of the print master.
Beefing up text
Astounds program has the same basic text features as PowerPoint, plus a couple of extra goodies. The 3D text is a separate application that blows Microsoft's WordArt out of the water.
