Abstract
(CCNMatthews - May 24, 2007) - Astral Mining Corporation ("Astral" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:AST)(PINK SHEETS:ASMGF)(FRANKFURT:A7D) (WKN# A0JDX3) and JV partner Gold Summit Corporation (TSX VENTURE:GSM) announce completion of 6 diamond drill holes on the Rinehart Prospect in South Carolina. Encouraged by the presence of visible gold ("VG") in a quartz vein intersected in Hole 1, two extra holes were added to the original 4 in the program for a total of 678 metres drilled.
The remaining 5 holes of the program were angled to the northeast, perpendicular to the estimated NW strike of the quartz vein in the old pit outcrop (Holes 2, 3 and 5) or drilled vertically (Holes 4 and 6). All holes intersected quartz veining in drilled widths between 0.2 and 2 metres and/or zones of up to 25 metres of intense pyrite-chlorite-epidote-kspar alteration with quartz veinlets. VG is noted, generally with pyrite, galena and chalcopyrite, in quartz veins in Holes 4 and 6.
