AT&T Wireless (NYSE:AWE) has unveiled an integrated billing platform, the "m" in mMode could mean "money" for application developers. In an effort to fuel the creation of innovative applications for its mMode service, AT&T Wireless now enables content providers to charge for their digital goods and services directly to customers' wireless phone bills or credit cards.
This secure, easy-to-use platform, powered by Qpass, gives application developers a much-needed solution for managing premium content. AT&T Wireless offers developers the most complete, integrated billing solution available today. It also gives customers a choice of easy payment options when buying digital content. Previously, customers had to use a separate credit card in order to make purchases through their wireless phones, said the company.
"We're making it easy for content providers by managing the back- office billing and payment system for them so they can focus on creating compelling applications for our customers," said John Bunyan, senior vice president of AT&T Wireless Mobile Multimedia Services.
