Abstract
Luxembourg-based network provider Atrium Network has increased the bandwidth of its European multicast infrastructure to 10 gigabytes per second to enable clients to cope with rising market data volumes across Europe, officials say. As well as increased data volumes, Atrium's bandwidth upgrade is also in response to increasing numbers of European trading firms consuming North American market data, and growing demand in the region to replace point-to-point Unicast data delivery with IP multicast, which is more efficient for trading venues and reduces the stress on servers that distribute the data.
