I should start this review by pointing out that I have a very strong bias when it comes to Avalon. This isn't because I work for them or because they pay me to give them good reviews. I promise there is no payola happening here! The bias is simply that Avalon has won a place in my heart and as far as I am concerned they can do no wrong. Avalon makes first-class products and has an inspired philosophy towards their product line - make great audio products and refuse to compromise. To quote a line from the VT747SP user manual, "A 'no compromise' approach in every stage of design and production ensures that the VT747SP will give many years of dependable high-quality service."

Like all of Avalon's products, the VT747SP is aimed at the very high-end of the audio production market. With a suggested retail price of almost $4,000 it is obvious that this is a piece of equipment designed with the audio elite in mind.
