Business information provider Factiva (http://www.factiva.com), a Dow Jones and Reuters company, cuts a deal with its own parent to offer subscription-based Reuters Health (http:// www.reutershealth.com) within its service. Factiva is hoping this deal opens the door to a new model for itself and partners, offering publishers a way to distribute subscription-based content via the active system, which already aggregates over 9,000 information sources for use within the enterprise. Meanwhile in the Webcasting world, IDG's Accela Communications (http:// www.accelacommunications.com), formerly ITWorld, lands a major strategic alliance with Primedia Business Magazines & Media to provide streaming media Webcasts to Primedia ad clients. The Accela platform provides custom Webcasts as well as front-end marketing and back-end lead generation. Apparently, a Webcast for Primedia's Telephony site earlier this year produced 900 registrants and very positive viewer response, so Primedia decided to offer the product line across its fleet of sites. Months ago, Accela told min's b2b that after having secured partnerships within its own IDG house of pubs and select others, it was targeting major B2B networks such as Primedia.
