NEW YORK -- Bankrupt Cosmetics Plus Inc. has hired a liquidator in anticipation of the shuttering of its doors by the end of November, but will be making a last-ditch effort to find a buyer.
The 22-unit beauty chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy court protection on Aug. 10 in Manhattan. Of the sites, all are in Manhattan except for four locations -- one each in Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island, in New York, and a store in Worcester Mass.
Included in the list of top 20 unsecured creditors are: Primary One, Astoria, N.Y., $439,309; Lancome, Clarke, N.J., $317,155; Christian Dior Perfumes Inc., New York, $240,291; Continental Cosmetique, Edison, N.J., $223,221; Perfume Center of America, New York, $210,328; L and R Distributors Inc., Brooklyn, N.Y., $190,142; Calvin Klein Cosmetics Co., Mt.
