[Visited Sep'08] First a few words to clarify levels of BBC online access. BBC News (CH, May'98, 35-4826) is comparable to CNN. com; both are commercial news sites. BBC Monitoring ( 1 939- ) reports news on political/economic events from state-owned, independent, and clandestine media sources worldwide via both open access and a subscription component. BBC Monitoring Library (April 2008- ) provides a search engine add-on. Non-subscription guests may access headlines and source name only; they may browse and do general searches after agreeing to terms and conditions.
