Outdoor equipment brand Berghaus has opened a new store in London's Covent Garden as part of its worldwide expansion plan. The store is the brand's second in the UK and was opened in October by mountaineers Sir Chris Bonington and Leo Houlding, who abseiled down the front of the building to remove a hoarding. The store, designed by Caulder Moore and fitted by Newman Scott, was designed, fitted and opened in a matter of weeks. A timeline around the walls shows product innovations, while an in-store screen shows items in use by brand ambassadors. The store opened on time, despite most of the stock being stolen from a lorry en route to the site.
