Best Software's Timeslips 2004 is one of the most feature-rich billing products on the market, with a wide array of tools that allow users to track time reports and expenses, synchronize accounts and create customized bills and reports.
Timeslips features a savvy Navigator pane that walks users through all the steps required to set up the software and its databases. All the features in Navigator have their own pane, and a thorough description next to each button explains each button's function. Navigator's look and feel is highly customizable.
In Navigator's standard view, step-by-step graphical processes enable users to easily generate bills. By right-clicking in the Navigator pane, users can switch between the tutorial view and any custom view.
What's more, the customizable Navigator views clearly list each task based on a templatelike view of a process. Users are able to jump between processes by simply toggling the Navigator views.
Unfortunately, some of the features lack help windows for each field or button, so CRN Test Center engineers had to navigate through multiple help files to figure out how to use each field properly. This process made it difficult to learn the product.
