SonicWALL, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNWL), Sunnyvale, Calif., has announced that Biscuitville, Inc., a privately owned fast food retailer with 48 locations in Virginia and North Carolina, has chosen SonicWALL's integrated and managed security solutions to secure Biscuitville's new Internet-based point of sale (POS) and inventory reporting network. SonicWALL partner, Secure Designs, Inc., is currently installing high-performance SonicWALL firewalls, Unified Threat Management (UTM) services and management software to secure POS transactions, protect data exchange and maintain continual access to inventory data.
Biscuitville has been serving traditional Southern breakfasts since 1975. The combination of the restaurateur's new networking technology and next-generation POS is helping to increase productivity, reduce costs and generate more revenue. Securely exchanging customer purchase and inventory information, as well as preventing disruption in network connectivity is mission critical. An integrated IPSec VPN enables secure connectivity between each restaurant and corporate headquarters. SonicWALL TZ 170 SP devices provide continuous uptime for VPN connectivity with automated failover and failback capabilities in all 48 Biscuitville restaurants. A SonicWALL PRO 3060 serves as the hub of the security network. The new network is managed by Secure Designs Inc. using SonicWALL's Global Management System (GMS).
