FORT WORTH - Family-owned Bluff Manufacturing Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of portable dock equipment,
has been sold to investors from Michigan, according to David Newell, a senior associate with the Fort Worth
business brokerage of Kasper & Assoclates, which handled the deal.
Bluff, which was founded in 1932 as a welding company, had been owned through three generations of Fort Worth's
Sherrod family. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. The founder's grandson, Danny Sherrod, owned 90% of Bluff.
