Today's trust and investment services marketers face a set of challenges that call for them to be more attuned to industry trends than their recent predecessors. The evolution of new; sales techniques, technological advances, and today's rapidly changing markets creates a need for trust marketers to have the most current information on trends to manage these challenges. The Bank Marketing Association's (BMA) 1994 Investment Management and Trust Marketing Conference, October 23-26 in Boston, Mass., will meet these needs.
In three information-packed days, attendees will gain vital insight into subjects such as investment sales, business development and today's selling environment. Highly-regarded speakers and industry experts will address general sessions and conduct conference sessions.
This year's conference includes seven general sessions at which several of the nation's top financial experts will discuss broad industry trends. The opening session features keynote speaker Paul J. Hondros, president of Fidelity Investments Institutional Services Co., Inc.. Boston, the country's largest mutual fund company. Hondros will share Fidelity's view of the "new financial institution" and how banks and mutual funds companies can join forces in manufacturing and distribution of asset management services.
The second half of Monday's general session will be "A View from the Top," given by Richard C. Caldwell, executive vice president, PNC Bank, N.A., Philadelphia, Pa. Hear how the trust banking industry' can position itself to be ahead of the changes that will affect businesses today and tomorrow.
The Total Quality Management concept has received a lot of attention recently. But does it have applications outside the customer service realm? Richard C. Palermo will show how he used this quality management tool when he was a senior manager for Xerox's U.S. Marketing division. As a Malcolm Baldridge Examiner, Palermo has extensive experience with quality assurance and will share his knowledge. Attendees will also learn about benchmarking against other industries and improving sales management effectiveness. The interactive session immediately following this session will give attendees the opportunity to talk with this sales and quality expert.
The conference's closing session will focus on difficulties trust and investment bankers can face within their organizations. A panel will lead the session "Solving Internal Turf Wars" so attendees can, once again, ask the experts. Panelists include Michael C. Baker, president, Barnett Banks Trust...
