Bohemia-based Ventura Group Inc., a commercial printer of CD marketing materials, is singing a blue tune nowadays.
The company filed for bankruptcy protection Dec. 17 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of New York, reporting $4.2 million in debts related in large part to the cost of recently acquired high-end printing equipment.
Ventura, owned by David Plath, is a 13-year-old firm that employs about 30 people who produce cardboard displays and point-of- purchase materials, primarily for the music and liquor industries.
