Thanks to an illustrated 35page Quick Setup Guide, we found the $300 Brother HL-1040 was the easiest printer to set up. (Apple users can connect the HL-1040 to an iMac or Power Macintosh G3 with a $79 interface kit.) Within 10 minutes of opening the box, we were cranking out quality prints with no glitches.
