While only in session for about two months, the new Brown Mackie College campus in Boise has already enrolled well over 100 students and is rapidly filling its 26,000-square-foot site with high-end equipment, including several computer labs and a suite of medical training facilities.
Offering diploma programs as well as Bachelor of Science and Associate of Science degrees, Brown Mackie students study subjects including business administration, health care management, accounting technology, information technology, office management, surgical technology and medical assistance.
With 19 locations around the country, Brown Mackie's Boise campus at 9050 W. Overland Road in the Blackeagle Plaza is its first in Idaho and one of only two in the western U.S. Boise campus president Rick Murphree said Brown Mackie chose to open a college in Idaho because of its high rate of growth and demand for skilled workers in a range of fields, including health care and legal services.
