Abstract

BT is preparing to decommission the legacy RadianzNet network infrastructure it acquired from Reuters in 2005, as it continues migrating customers to the Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) based network that supports BT's other global telecom and data services. The migration will be completed over the course of the next two years. To support the ongoing migration, officials say BT is continuously upgrading its network to ensure that all services currently offered via RadianzNet can be offered with equal or better performance via the new infrastructure. BT is also building a solution that allows its MPLS network to efficiently carry data transmitted via IP multicast, which has traditionally been a challenge for MPLS-based networks.
