Here we go again: the final hours in the Fuehrer-bunker depicted for the reader complete with spies and accusations; fond farewells and suicides; loyal retainers, Eva Braun, Blondi the dog and backed-up toilets; and Der Chef himself, dressed in his once-proud tunic, now unfortunately spattered with soup stains. The Bunker is all this, of course, and includes the usual diagrams and photos. Fortunately, however, Mr. O'Donnell quickly jettisons the mundane and delves with relish into the intrigues, innerworkings, quirks, foibles and frailties of Hitler and his coterie during the incredible, ignominious last hours of the Third Reich.
