The Englishman who created a stir by advertising a perfume that kills flies has launched an ad campaign aimed at grabbing the same kind ot attention in Los Angeles.
The man is Russell Gore-Andrews and he is chairman of More O'Ferrall, an outdoor advertising company that earned notoriety earlier this year when it advertised a non-existent Australian perfume called "Sheila" with thc slogan: "Also kills flies." The campaign was aimed at demonstrating that outdoor advertising works.
Gore-Andrews' company owns a subsidiary called Bench Ad Co.. based in Maywood just outside downtown Los Angeles, and last week he brought his tongue-in-cheek approach to Los Angeles. A campaign appearing on nearly 1,000 of Bench Ad Co.'s bus benches in Los Angeles and Orange counties promotes a non-existent "Fat Food" called "Love Handles."
The campaign. scheduled to run for a month, features a picture of a chunk of chocolate cake with a handle on it. Just in case...
