The Canamex corridor-a proposed continuous four-lane highway route from Canada to Mexico that promises to bring more trade and tourism to Las Vegaswill reach yet another mile marker in January when representatives from the Canamex coalition hold their next quarterly meeting to discuss the project's environmental and economic impacts.
Consultant Tom Skancke made the announcement before the Regional Transportation Commission during a Canamex presentation earlier this month.
The Canamex corridor is a proposed route designed to foster trade and tourism between Mexico, Canada, and the five states coordinating the project-Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Utah and Montana.
Skancke's presentation echoed similar comments made by proponents of the corridor-that is, Canamex may be the "Road to El Dorado."
