Owning her own photography studio was not always her plan, but Natalie Sinisgalli, 29, started developing her love for photography at 16 and opened her studio six years later.
Natalie Sinisgalli Photography Inc. does engagement and wedding photography, senior portraits, family portraits, and beauty and boudoir photography. Roughly half of the engagement photo sessions the firm does are out of town. Sinisgalli says these are the most fun because they represent an exciting time in the couples' lives as well as their interests.
Sinisgalli began her photography career while growing up in Honeoye Falls-Lima. She decided to take a photography class on a whim during high school and immediately fell in love with it. She spent so much time at school working on her photos that eventually janitors knew who she was.
"There's something so magical about the darkroom for me," she says.
After high school she was unsure what she wanted to do, which led her to the imaging photographic technology program at Rochester Institute of Technology. She picked this small program at RIT because of the science and math focus, instead of earning a fine arts degree.
