In a long anticipated move, Acklands president and CEO Rai Sahi announced in late March that its McKerlie-Millen Inc. subsidiary would come under the ownership of a joint venture with General Parts Inc., creating CARQUEST Canada Ltd.
General Parts Inc., based in Raleigh, North Carolina, is the largest member of the CARQUEST Marketing Group which boasts 27 distribution centers across the U.S. supplying more than 2,000 stores.
McKerlie-Millen operates six distribution centers supplying over 400 stores in Eastern Canada and B.C. These include, mainly, the B.C. Bumper-to-Bumper , Autopoint, McKerlie-Millen ope rations. Acklands also announced its intention to sell the Florida-based Rose Auto Stores.
