The people behind the Communications Arts Advertising Annual are keeping this year's entries a closely guarded secret, but we've managed to get a line on some of the Canadian shops that will be featured when the coveted book hits the streets in December. Zak Mroueh, vice-president and creative director at Taxi in Toronto, confirms that the shop has an astounding nine entries. Volant Skis, BMW's Mini, ABC Literacy Foundation and an information kit for design got the nod, while the Short Film Festival received two hits, as did all Covenant House ads. TBWA\Chiat\Day's creative director James Spence says that agency has an entry for the smoker's help line for the Canadian Cancer Society. Vancouver agencies are also well represented. Rethink clients Bootlegger, Maclean's and Playland all have an entry, while three ads for Bryant Fulton & Shee's B.C. Lottery Corp.'s Super 7 are featured, as is Palmer Jarvis DDB's Vancouver office for ads for Bellingham, Wash. based KVOS.
