What problems does sales software address? You only have to analyze how much time is spent selling and how much goes into sales-related paperwork in a hotel sales office to realize that something must be done to increase productivity.
The lodging industry has invested millions of dollar on technology for reservation systems, property management systems, revenue management programs and financial systems. Most of the investment has been spent to track or count money, but little has been invested in sales office technology, which leads to having more money to count.
For several years, when small to medium-size hotels asked me for my suggestions regarding sales software, I had to recommend off-the-shelf generic account management programs because hotel-specific programs were beyond the financial reach of all but large hotels and resorts.
