Anyone who has ever been to a combined arms exercise (CAX) at Marine Air-Ground Task Force Training Command, Twentynine Palms, Calif, will have noticed the Marines who walk around in the brown, desert-style camouflage utilities. They are the "Coyotes" (training cadre) of the tactical training exercise control group.
The Coyotes are a group of Marines whose mission is to train and exercise units in the command, control and coordination of combined arms in support of maneuver warfare.
During CAX 7-8 held this summer, the Coyotes did just that for Marine Corps Forces Reserve units that arrived from across the country. On any given day, the Coyotes can be seen giving classes or passing scenario intelligence information to Marines during the various training...
