BS Newspath provides its affiliates with the most extensive system of regional news gathering, said John Frazee, vice president of News Services at CBS News. CBS Newspath is the unit of CBS News that provides a full spectrum of services for local CBS affiliates to use in producing their broadcasts. Two hundred affiliate newsrooms and 14 regional hub offices, all linked by computer, keep tabs on news 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Like Newspath, other networks supply their affiliates with their own news feeds, both nationally and regionally. But unlike CBS. other networks don't have as strong a pulse on regional news. For some networks, regional coverage offices are located only at bureau locations...
