After 14 years of tipping off on WTTV-4, the Indiana Pacers have announced plans to move their local television contract to WXIN-59.
The move is just one more feather in the cap of local independent WXIN, which announced plans last week to be acquired by Emmis Broadcasting Corp., the local broadcaster that's on its way to becoming the country's largest privately owned radio operator.
"It's part of our strategic plan," says WXIN general manager Joe Young. "It's no assault on any one station. We're just looking to be the strongest station in town. It's really the third leg of the Triple Crown for us -- first, we became affiliates of the Fox Network, second, we secured...
