For the second time in two weeks, there are rumblings in the cable industry about a headquarters move to Denver.
Charter Communications CEO Carl Vogel is considering moving part of the headquarters from St. Louis to Denver, according to industry sources.
Charter is the third-largest cable company in the country with 6.7 million customers.
The move would enforce a growing trend in business to move headquarters to locations where management wants to live.
"Carl has a lot of ties here; he has the house in Breckenridge and his wife [Carol] loves it here," said Paul Maxwell, columnist with CableFAX and a cable commentator who has started several cable and satellite publications since 1975.
Earlier this month, reports came out that Coudersport, Pa.-based Adelphia Communications may move part of its headquarters to Denver because it was negotiating to hire former AT&T Broadband chief executive Bill Schleyer as...
