An Eagle restaurant with a cheerleading theme, due to open in May, tells job applicants on its website that dancing and singing is a plus.
The owner and the general manager of Cheerleaders Sports Bar & Grill say the concept calls for the waitstaff to dress up as cheerleaders or, in the case of males, referees, perform cheers and host karaoke.
Frothy though that may sound, owner Rob Godsill says we're not Hooters.
Some people have confused Cheerleaders and Hooters - planned this spring near Boise Towne Square - Godsill said, but Cheerleaders will cater to a more family-oriented crowd.
The cheerleading uniforms won't be too risky or too revealing, Godsill said. We want to keep it kind of sexy, but not to the point that it disrupts the family atmosphere. We're not going overboard, he said.
General Manager Lori Collins said the cheerleader concept works for families, especially those with girls.
Young girls idolize cheerleaders, she said. I know I always did. I always wanted to be an NFL cheerleader.
