Construction is big business. So is software, not to mention accounting. Cheetah Advanced Technologies combined these industries into one product so attractive that it was bound to be scooped up.
And scooped up it was. In March, Maxwell Systems Inc. acquired Fort Collins-based Cheetah for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition adds Cheetah's StreetSmarts software to Pennsylvania-based Maxwell's already burgeoning portfolio of business management software for the construction industry.
StreetSmart is management software designed specifically for the heavy-highway segment of the construction industry. "As the construction software industry continues to evolve, we believe the combination of Maxwell Systems and Cheetah Advanced Technologies will deliver increased value to its customers and to the market," said Maxwell President and CEO Jim Flynn in a company press release. "Bringing together the talent and industry expertise of both organizations establishes the scale and knowledge necessary to accelerate the delivery of innovative solutions, as well as world-class professional services and support, to the heavy construction market."
