Chubb Computer Services may be scrapping its free computer training program in lieu of a more profitable consulting and staffing business model.
In April 1999, Chubb launched a free program to lure professionals such as accountants, attorneys and engineers into a fast-track information technology training curriculum, providing the most current programming skills. The school anticipated making money off commissions paid by companies hiring graduates of its "Top Gun" program.
The problem is that since it began, there have been only 45 graduates and not all of them found jobs.
