Prudential Retirement Insurance & Annuity Co. and Cigna Corp. have agreed to pay $35 million to settle allegations that a Cigna unit charged employees excessive fees as part of their 401(k) plans prior to its acquisition by Prudential Financial Inc., the companies confirmed June 25.
