Blue Ash-based Access Corp. recently bought a fledgling California company, securing the rights to a popular software product in a push to become the leading provider in its industry.
Access purchased CimSoft Inc. of Irvine, Calif., for an undisclosed price just six weeks after the company was founded. The sale was finalized July 31, but not revealed until last week.
According to company officials, the sale will give Access--a producer of technical document software management systems--a larger market share that should increase revenues by 50% within two years.
As part of the deal, Access acquired the exclusive North American distribution rights to the Cimage line of document and workflow management products. The transaction gives Access one of the largest installed bases nationwide.
