ARTICLE SUMMARY
CodeS's new lightbar is dual-level with single-color red/blue on the top and the option of dual-color, amber/white on the bottom. Taken together, the Pursuit achieves the function of a tri-color lightbar.
TWO-LEVEL LIGHTBAR WITH A ONE-LEVEL HEIGHT
At the Police Fleet Expo-Columbus, Code3 PSE introduced their latest lightbar, the Pursuit(TM). This is a designed-from-ground-up lightbar, a fresh look at what an emergency lightbar should be.
The Pursuit NextGen lightbar uses two very different LED lightheads, stacked one on top of the other. The upper lighthead is a fresnel optic with a diffuser, using all-new, Pro-Axis Optics(TM) technology. The super-thin lower lighthead is reflector-based with a filter optic. The upper front and rear LED lightheads use single-color LED modules in red, blue or amber. The lower LED lightheads use single or dual LED modules and are just a half-inch tall.
The upper level is for the standard red and blue warning lights. The lower level of the Pursuit is for white and amber front takedown, side alley, and rear traffic advisor, in addition to an intersection and flashing signal. The lower level also has a corner intersection sweeping flash pattern.
Upper and lower levels can be programmed separately for uniquely different flash levels. For example, alternate between upper-level driver's side red and lower-level passenger's side white and then upperlevel passenger's side blue and lower-level driver's side white.
C3 Pro Interface Configurator
New for the Pursuit lightbar, Code3 introduced their C3 Pro(TM) Interface Configurator. The new C3 Pro programming software lets you program all the patterns, lightheads, and level selections on a PC before you load the software into the Pursuit lightbar. Importantly, all the selections can be previewed on the PC before installing it on the lightbar. No extra firmware is needed to write any of the flash patterns.
Once the flash patterns are selected and saved in C3 Pro, then the data is transmitted directly from the laptop to the Pursuit via the data port on the Network Junction box. The four-wire lightbar cable is connected to the small Network Junction Box that can be mounted virtually anywhere in the vehicle. There is no need for a separate programming box. With the C3 Pro, it is easy to download this same...
