After several years of rumors, Motorola's Semiconductor Components Group has announced that it will introduce products with "hard" diffused microcontroller cores and peripherals embedded into the company's field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The first member of what is termed the CORE+ product line will combine the ColdFire core with 22,000 FPGA logic gates.
