Robert Arnold considers himself to be an entrepreneur at heart. That's why he's so intrigued by his latest challenge.
A veteran of the banking industry, Arnold recently took the position as president of the newly formed Louisville office of Irwin Union Bank and Trust Co., a financial services institution catering to the needs of small and middle-market businesses.
The Columbus, Ind.-based bank, a subsidiary of Irwin Financial Corp., with $2 billion in assets, is expanding into the Louisville market. Irwin Financial also is based in Columbus.
Arnold, with nearly two decades of experience in commercial and corporate banking, is responsible for getting the local branch off the ground.
"In the banking industry, it's kind of hard to be an entrepreneur," said Arnold, who worked for PNC Bank and its predecessor, Citizens Fidelity Bank & Trust Co., in Louisville for 13 years, most recently serving as senior vice president and division manager.
