Larry Prible has an achin' back. Especially when he runs.
So, the CEO of Indianapolis Life Insurance Co. and godfather of corporate running in Indianapolis might not finish the mini marathon May 2. No problem, says Prible.
"I can guarantee you this," he says one evening after meeting with race planners. "I will start the race. That's what the mini is about. It's the neatest part of the whole race. Most people run the mini because of the charge they get at the start of the race. It's a celebration of all the hard work everybody put in."
That, essentially, is Prible's philosophy. Everything in life requires a first step. He and his insurance company have taken some giant strides in the past few years to promote running and fitness.
