After 20 years as the smallest bank in Hawaii, Continental Savings Bank has expanded its operations and gone in new directions, changing its name, acquiring two branches and offering deposits for the first time.
Now called HomeStreet Bank, the $1.3 billion Seattle-based savings and loan has bought branches in Hilo and Chinatown from Realty Finance. HomeStreet also has mortgage branches in Kapiolani and Kona.
