In this issue, O&P News poses five questions to Eric Shoemaker, MS, CPO, LPO.
Shoemaker is the regional director at Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics. He graduated from Century College as an orthotic technician and worked as an orthotic fitter in Philadelphia before he received a bachelor's degree in orthotics and prosthetics from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He completed a 2-year residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Shoemaker was American Board for Certification in Orthotics Prosthetics and Pedorthics-certified in prosthetics in 2001 and in orthotics in 2003. He served as a staffprosthetist-orthotist and clinical coordinator at the University of Rochester Medical Center before he received a master's degree in medical management from the University of Rochester's Simon School of Business.
Shoemaker is a member of the Association of Children's Prosthetic-Orthotic Clinics, the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association.
