Quick takes on high-tech toys.
When it comes to Bluetooth mobile phone headsets, do you choose voice call quality over features and functions? This week I have two products that take different approaches.
The scoop: Mvox Duo Wearable Smart Communicator, by Mvox Technologies, about $250.
What it is: The Mvox Duo combines a number of features in its device. Besides having a Bluetooth mobile-phone headset, the Duo operates as a speaker phone and VoIP handset. It includes technology for one-touch voice-dialing contacts, in case the user's mobile phone doesn't support that feature.
Why it's cool: The extra headset features make it attractive to users who want more from their Bluetooth headset than just hands-free calling when they're in a car, for example. My mobile phone supports voice-activated dialing, but it was much easier, for example, to put the headset on, press the Talk button...
