TROY - With a gathering that topped 900 - customers, community leaders and bankers had the privilege to hear Coretta Scott King, widow of the slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., deliver the keynote address at the second Celebration of Cultural Diversity hosted by Standard Federal Bank, April 28. Standard Federal is a division of ABN AMRO Bank, which is based in the Netherlands and has banking interests and offices in 60 countries around the world.
Again this year Standard Federal's headquarters was transformed into a colorful ethnic blend of cultures that included art work, banners, flags and samplings of ethnic foods representing many nations and cultures. A number of guests added to the cultural theme by wearing clothing unique to their native lands. From Asia to Africa to the Middle East to Mexico, nations, regions and continents from all over the world were represented.
