The global market for coronary stent devices was estimated at Rs. 34,080 crore (USD 7.1 billion) in 2011 and is expected to reach Rs. 50,880 crore (USD 10.6 billion) at a projected CAGR of 8.3 percent. The market in emerging countries was valued at Rs. 3408 crore (USD 710 million) in 2011 and is envisaged to grow to Rs. 5760 crore (USD 1.2 billion) in 2016, demonstrating a CAGR of 10.4 percent. In 2011, India was responsible for Rs. 1499.52 crore (USD 312.4 million) in revenues from coronary stent devices, and this revenue is expected to grow at a CAGR of 12.4 percent, reaching Rs. 2686.56 crore (USD 559.7 million) in 2016.
